International Golf Day 2017

A full international field of 9 teams representing different countries from around the world competed in the annual International Day 2017 golf tournament on Friday 24th November 2017 at the Fenti Golf course. A well deserved victory went to team South Africa represented by Wessel Mulder, Colin Smith, Colin Pillay and Malachy Roscoe by an extremely narrow margin from team Sudan represented by Osama Daoud Abdellatif, Hani Hassan, Zain Abdullah and Tony Frattina. The popular Texas Scramble format produced an excellent winning score of net 59 which was a combined 13 under par. In third place with a net score of 61 was another Team Sudan represented by Osama Zaki, Hisham Saeed, Ahmed Omer Sidahmed and Baha Osman. Longest Drive on Hole 14 went to Colin Smith and nearest the pin on Hole 17 went to Hani Hassan. Following the close of play the teams and invited guests enjoyed a sumptuous prize presentation buffet lunch with national dishes from all of the countries participating in the event available for guests to sample!
